Obviously, my exercise for the past week has been nonexistent (other than wiggling my fingers, trying to make a fist, and typing one-handed). I'm OK with that. For now, anyway. Eventually, I'll want and need to get back to it. I already miss walking, although the thought of it does kind of make me shudder a little, as well.
I've found something I'd like to do, if I can: the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. It's almost two months away. I don't know when I'll be able to start really walking again--my hand still has quite a bit of swelling, though my fingers aren't nearly as sausage-like as they were two days ago. But surely I'll be ready in three more weeks? That would give me a month to get ready. It's only five miles on level ground.
The obvious answer is, "ask the surgeon at your follow up appointment in a week and a half." I'm really hoping he gives me the all clear.
