Yesterday, Sarah made Ellie Krieger's Double Chocolate Pudding Pie. I didn't realize that we're out of vanilla extract, which really disappointed her when I said she couldn't make it after all. I relented when I remembered that we did have almond extract. She made the entire thing herself, with very little supervision from me. It turned out well, although a little rich and sweet for me.
Also, she had trouble getting clean slices out of the pie plate. I frequently have the same issue with graham cracker crusts, and I've come up with what I think is a reasonable solution. Dish the pudding filling into individual serving vessels and chill until set. Right before serving, sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the top. Add whipped cream as desired. This eliminated a messy or soggy crust, and has the added bonus of saving a few extra calories from not needing butter when making the crust.
Worth making again? Yes--she said it was pretty easy, and I think it would be even better with the modifications.
I made hamburger buns, to be used for leftover pulled pork and sloppy joes that Sarah also made. The girls really liked them. The dough was very sticky and hard to get out of the bowl, especially because I forgot to spray it with cooking spray while it rose. They were pretty easy to shape, even with only one hand. They tasted fine, although slightly dense and not as large as I usually think of hamburger buns as being. They were quite similar to a dinner roll recipe I've had a long time.
Worth making again? Maybe--they were quick and easy, and if I could shape them to be a little flatter with greater diameter and use less sugar, it's worth a go.

You probably already know this, but I never knew until just this week that "The Pioneer Woman" is set to debut her new show on Food Network this weekend (Saturday)...

Yep, I did see it. I like that she's not as slick as a lot of the newer hosts.
I recently heard that there are a lot of people who really dislike her, apparently because the family has more money than they realized. She gives stuff away all the time on the website--what was your first clue?
