I have not the tiniest idea how many calories are on that plate, but I know it's A LOT. And I don't regret any of them. It was nice to go be able to celebrate with friends as an occasional splurge.
Ah, there's that word. No, not "splurge." "Occasional." Just how often is "occasional?"
Tomorrow, we're going to my brother-in-law's house for my mother-in-law's birthday, where we will have pizza and who knows what else.
In early September, our church has its Back to School Picnic potluck.
In later September, we'll go to my stepbrother's house for his big potluck bash.
There will be a lot of good food at all these occasions. How do I plan to deal with them?
Plan? I should have a plan? Well, I guess I could make sure I take something healthy and tasty to the potluck events and only sample one or two other things that I know I really like (avoid hot dogs, because they usually aren't worth the calories). That sounds like a good plan. We'll see how well I can stick to it.
