Good News: I have a fabulous hot pink cast that will come off in just two weeks, because I'm healing quite well. The surgeon was pleased that I could make a fist and said, "Now you have to start doing 'palm up, palm down.'" Huh? Just flipping my palm back & forth? How hard can that be? He smiled and said, "Have you done it?" No, because I was just told to wiggle my fingers and make a fist if I could. So I tried, and yeah, that's something I need to work on, because I totally can't do it.
He did say that I'll have less flexibility than my other hand. But it's my left hand. I had less dexterity in it than the right to begin with, so I'll take what I can get.
And I'm using both hands to type this (albeit not terribly well), so that's another bonus. I'm satisfied with baby steps.
