Homeschool: Keyboarding

D'oh! I had a nice long post about Math, but it got eaten, so I'm going to do something quicker instead. Typing/Keyboarding is another thing we practice every day. I thought that practice a few times a week would be enough, but it turned out that a little bit every day really makes more of a difference.

For learning to type correctly, Dance Mat Typing can't be beat. It's fun--I've even had adult students use it happily--and it teaches the correct finger placement. FreeTypingGame.net also has lessons, but they aren't nearly as fun.

We also have a few sites to go to play games for practice:

• Spacebar Invaders and The Frogs are Off Their Diet are just two of the games at FreeTypingGames.net. The nice thing about these games is that it's easy to set your level.
