Potty Training

Before I get to the topic at hand, let me say that I picked Sarah up within 15 minutes of being called. (By the way, Pat, I laughed hardest at your comment!) She had fallen asleep at 5:30--from what I hear, it was the first time she'd stopped moving--and didn't wake up until I got there at 6, so I'm not sure she even realized that I was the worst mom at the Brownie Lock In.

So does anyone have any good ideas for a suck up/apology present for the Brownie Troop leader?

OK, on to the topic at hand. Lauren's potty training has gone so much better lately. Remember the major meltdown I had a few months ago? That was largely due to potty training frustration, though there was other stuff involved as well. But happily, there have been almost no daytime accidents in recent memory. The one notable exception was when she she tried to clean things up herself, but I'm not getting into that.

The stumbling block now is that she wets the bed at night. This has happened pretty much every night this week. Part of the problem is that when she wakes up in the middle of the night, we get her cleaned up, get the sheet off her bed, and let her get into bed with us rather than hassle with remaking the bed. Yeah, it's easier for us, but I don't think it's really helpful. So we now have an official policy that if she wets the bed, she has to sleep back in her own bed, but if she stays dry all night, she can come and cuddle with us in bed in the morning. We'll see how it goes. I just have to remember to set out clean pajamas, underwear, and sheets on her dresser before she goes to bed.
