Finally!

I wish I knew the trick to getting good, sharp pictures of close up objects like this.

The sad part is, it sat on my dresser for two years, untouched. When I finally picked it up again, it took a week to complete.

The text below their names (my brother & SIL) says, "A wedding lasts but a day. A marriage lasts a lifetime." The original text on the pattern was about new beginnings, adding to the circle of the family, etc. In addition to not fitting their lives, there wasn't any room for their names or the date.

Now I can start working on the projects for my most recent neice and nephew, and Lauren!

Hiya, the reason you're close-ups are coming out blurry is probably because you're too close. Every camera has a minimum distance it can be from the subject. If you're *really* interested in taking close-ups, you may be able to buy "macro extenders" from a camera shop. They're very very simple to use, they just clip onto the beck of your lens and let you focus way closer than usual. That depends, of course, on your camera being able to pop its lens on and off.

If this isn't the case, you might just be suffering from camera shake, try using a tripod, or, if that's not possible, hold your camera in both hands, nice and relaxed with your elbows tucked into the side of your body. Breathe in, breathe out and click.

I didn't think I was all that close, though I did zoom in.

I have noticed that I can't get decent pictures at all with the macro setting. I do considerably better with "auto" and cropped in.
