What NOT to Say
"Sarah, as soon as you get your schoolwork done, we'll go sledding!"
This guarantees that Sarah's mind will not be on the schoolwork, and she'll do a poor job.
Eh, we had fun anyway, and she can practice stuff this afternoon.
